IFS Intensives
EMDR Intensives
Virtual Therapy Intensives for folks in Texas and Michigan
Unhurried time for complex minds
What if your therapy session didn't end right when you were finally getting somewhere?
For folks with scattered minds, weekly sessions can sometimes feel like:
Showing up for session unsure of where to start
Going all over the place trying gather all the possible threads
Finally finding a path just when time is running out
Leaving feeling like it was a whirlwind and not knowing what to do with it
IFS and EMDR Intensives can give you that room
Why IFS and EMDR Intensives?
IFS creates space to get curious about all the different parts of you showing up in your life. For folks with ADHD and complex trauma, there are often a lot of parts, each with something important to say. An intensive gives those parts enough uninterrupted time to actually be heard, something that can be harder to find in a 50-minute window.
EMDR helps your brain and nervous system process experiences that got stuck and are still shaping how you move through the world today. With complex trauma, and for ADHDers, years of friction, shame, and rejection can get wired into the system in ways that run deep. The intensive format gives EMDR room to move through those layers with flexibility, build momentum when something opens up, and still slow down enough that you're not walking out feeling raw and unfinished.
Together, IFS and EMDR can make a warm, unhurried space for that deeper, creative, whole-person work that more closely aligns with your particular mind and experience. The intensive format gives both approaches room to do what they do best.
Who benefits from IFS and EMDR Intensives?
Adults with ADHD and complex trauma histories
People who experience emotional overwhelm or dysregulation
Overthinkers stuck in decision paralysis or loops
Perfectionists, people-pleasers, and inner critic sufferers
Creatives with identity, belonging, and shame wounds
Experienced therapy goers ready to go deeper and see more shifts
How IFS and EMDR Intensives Can Help
A peek at what's possible...
Shame and rejection sensitivity starting to loosen some of their grip
Less white-knuckling through the stuff that's always been ten times harder for you than it looks for everyone else
Less of that exhausting internal tug of war with yourself
More clarity around big decisions and what you actually want
A more settled sense of who you are and where you belong
Moving through emotional overwhelm in ways that follow the needs of your unique nervous system
When you've got the container of an intensive block, the important stuff doesn't have to get cut short just when it's starting to open up. And there's less that has to get packed back up at the end, only to be pulled back out and reoriented all over again some time down the road.
The pacing is yours. There is room to go slow when you need to, tend to what comes up, and find your footing before you head back out into your life. The parts of you that usually need a little more time to trust and settle in actually get that here.
And because this is a dedicated, protected window of time, the parts of you that are usually scanning for the exit, watching the clock, or trying to cram everything in before time runs out may find they can finally just breathe, exist, be understood, be felt, be cared for, and just BE.
Therapy Intensives for deep thinkers and deep feelers who need therapy with more room for their creative multitudes
If you've been doing the work and something still feels stuck, or if you've been carrying something for a long time and keep circling back to the same place, an intensive might offer something that weekly therapy hasn't quite been able to get to yet.
A longer, more focused container can make a real difference for folks whose minds and nervous systems need more time and space to open up, settle in, and more fully move through something.
Could IFS and EMDR Intensives be right for you?
Could be a great fit if…
You've done some therapy before and feel ready to go deeper, or want to expand on past EMDR and IFS therapy
You have ADHD or complex trauma and weekly sessions feel too short
You're noticing patterns, triggers, or parts that keep coming up and you're ready to do more than manage them
You want dedicated time to really understand, feel into, and tend to what's underneath
You're working with another therapist and want to supplement that work
Might not be the right time if…
Things feel really destabilized right now and daily life is taking everything you've got
You're in active crisis or an unsafe living situation and need more consistent ongoing support
You're brand new to therapy and still figuring out what you need and what to expect
The investment feels like too much of a stretch right now financially or logistically
Regular ongoing therapy is what you're looking for right now rather than a brief focused intensive experience
If an intensive doesn't feel like the right fit right now, that's completely valid. Exploring weekly therapy, connecting with another provider, or revisiting intensives down the road when circumstances are different are options.

Frequently Asked Questions About IFS and EMDR Intensives
-
A therapy intensive is an extended, focused format that offers something different from traditional weekly therapy sessions.
Rather than meeting for 50 minutes once a week, an intensive gives you a dedicated, extended block of time to go deeper into the work without the stop-start rhythm of ongoing weekly sessions.
This format is especially well suited for people who want to address something specific, who find that weekly sessions barely scratch the surface before time is up, or who want to make more concentrated progress than the pace of weekly therapy allows.
An intensive is not a replacement for ongoing therapy. It can be a complement to the work you're already doing so you can take that work further, or a way to kickstart a new or more focused direction for ongoing therapy.

IFS and EMDR intensives tend to be a good fit for you if:
You have some therapy experience and feel ready to go deeper on something specific
You have ADHD or complex trauma and weekly sessions feel too short or too scattered
You're working with another therapist and want to supplement that work with something more focused
You're navigating a specific issue, decision, or crossroads and want dedicated time with it
You have some capacity to be with difficult emotions or are open to exploring that, even if it's shaky
Some part of you wants to be here and is willing to try, even if other parts are hesitant or unsure
Not sure if you're ready? The free consultation is a good place to figure that out together.

Results from an IFS and EMDR intensive look different for everyone, and I want to be honest that I can't promise or guarantee specific outcomes.
Healing is nonlinear and depends on what you're bringing, your history, and what your particular nervous system is ready for. Some people notice more obvious shifts and aha moments. More often the changes are subtler but just as meaningful.
Things like being able to laugh at yourself when you make a mistake instead of spiraling into self-criticism, speaking up in a conflict without shrinking or shrieking, feeling less friction when making decisions about your own self-care, or letting your needs matter a little more without the usual guilt.
You might leave having made some new internal connections or released something that was ready to move, with a little more access to your own clarity, calm, and compassion than you arrived with.

A few things that can help facilitate the process: setting aside the time intentionally, not scheduling anything demanding before or after, arriving well rested and clear headed, and having a good comfortable private space to work from. Some light reflection beforehand on what you want to bring can also be helpful, though that groundwork gets laid together in the prep session too. Being in a relatively stable place in your life right now, not in active crisis or an unsafe situation, and having some support around you outside of sessions also makes a difference. And if you're not sure whether now is the right time, the free consult is a good place to figure that out together.

All IFS and EMDR intensives are offered virtually via a secure telehealth platform, available to clients located in Texas and Michigan. Virtual intensive work can be deeply effective and meaningful, and for many people, being in their own space actually makes it easier to settle in and feel comfortable. That said, setting yourself up well makes a difference. A private, quiet space where you won't be interrupted, a comfortable place to sit, good lighting, a stable internet connection, and having some water, a blanket, fidgets, or anything that helps you feel settled nearby can all help facilitate the work. Some people like to have a journal or art materials close by to support their process. The goal is a space that promotes safety and comfort.

All packages include a one hour integration session where we'll reflect on what emerged, talk through how it fits into your life going forward, and explore what next steps or additional support might make sense for you.
In the days following your intensive, it's not uncommon for emotions, insights, or new awareness to continue surfacing as things settle.
Being gentle with yourself during that time matters. Protecting your energy, resting, and giving yourself space to process in whatever ways feel natural to you, whether that's journaling, creative expression, time outside, or simply letting yourself be.
From there, options for continued support might include adding additional intensive blocks, beginning, continuing, or returning to weekly therapy, or resuming work with your referring therapist. There's no set formula for what comes next.
That's something we figure out together based on what you're working on, where you are, and what your particular system needs.
It makes sense if you have questions about intensives and if there’s something you are still wondering about after checking out the FAQs reach out and we can chat more about ‘em.
I’m Erin, an IFS and EMDR-Trained Therapist
Serving Houston, Ann Arbor, and folks across Texas & Michigan
I'm a licensed clinical social worker passionate about working with adults with ADHD and complex trauma. I've completed EMDRIA approved EMDR training and IFS Institute Level 1 training, and I've done my own IFS and EMDR work. I know firsthand how impactful this kind of deep, focused work can be when you actually have enough time and space to let it unfold.
As an ADHDer myself with an understanding of complex trauma, I know what it's like to have a brain and a nervous system that works differently, to feel things intensely, to carry more than it looks like from the outside, and to have spent a lot of energy just trying to keep up in a world not designed for you. The intersection of ADHD and complex trauma is where I do some of my most meaningful work. These experiences so often live alongside each other, each one shaping and amplifying the other in ways that need more than surface level support to address.
Intensives feel like a natural fit for this work and for the people I work with and I'm so excited to be able to offer this option. Creative, complex, deeply feeling people whose systems need more room, more time, and more spaciousness than a 50 minute session can offer. IFS and EMDR intensives can help what has been stuck begin to emerge and flow more freely.
If you want a fresh format to feel and function in ways that fit your flavor of fabulous funkiness…
