Therapy in Michigan

serving Michiganders from Ann Arbor to Zeeland, and every corner of the Mitten and UP for online therapy.

Therapy for Adult ADHD, CPTSD, & Anxiety

Online Therapy Across Michigan

Common Current Therapy provides online therapy for adults across Michigan, from Ann Arbor and Grand Rapids to Traverse City, Detroit, Kalamazoo, and every town in between, throughout the Lower Peninsula and the Upper Peninsula. As a therapist licensed in Michigan (LMSW), I (Erin) work with adults navigating ADHD, C-PTSD, and anxiety using a neurodivergence-affirming, trauma-informed approach that draws on IFS, EMDR, and somatic work. Because sessions are entirely virtual, you can work with me from home, your office, or wherever in Michigan feels most private and comfortable, no commute or waiting room required.

The aim is to let your flowing, expansive, and wildly ADHD mind feel welcome here through neurodivergent-affirming and trauma-informed care.

Michiganders need therapy that can meet them where they are

When venturing out on icy roads or through construction cones to get to an appointment feels like a nervous system nightmare, or when the comforts of home help you feel more supported to do the deep work, online therapy in Michigan lets you create the space you need.

You’re here because you are tired of driving over life’s potholes

You are exhausted from constantly bouncing between your renegade thoughts

Worrying and second-guessing every turn you make is a daily struggle

You can’t figure out why it feels like you are living your life on hard mode and everyone else is speeding by

People don’t seem to understand why you can’t just pull it together and stay in the lines

But what if therapy could help you follow your own path?

Your authentic self can start to emerge with the realization that you are not broken and you never were.

Online therapy in Michigan could have benefits across many life domains

SELF

Understand your inner world instead of fighting it, including the parts of you that feel stuck, anxious, or "too much"

Feel less at war with your own brain, especially if you feel behind, lazy, or broken

EMOTIONAL

Move through big feelings with less shutting down or spiraling

Transform trauma responses and patterns that keep repeating years later

PHYSICAL

Notice your nervous system at more ease with less strain, tension, and pressure

✔ Accommodate the fluctuations in your capacity with periods of more rest and periods of more directed energy

SOCIAL/COMMUNITY

✔ Find spaces that allow you to feel understood and accepted instead of like you have to explain or hide yourself

Set boundaries and show up in relationships without abandoning yourself to keep the peace

I help Michiganders with ADHD and complex trauma reconnect with their strengths and step more wholeheartedly into the beautifully bizarre and brilliant life they are craving.

Hi, I’m Erin Kehrier, LMSW

Whether it’s adult ADHD, anxiety, or complex trauma we can steer through the choppy waters together.

Through EMDR and IFS therapy, we’ll gently explore the layers of your experiences and help you find balance and relief.

Together, we’ll help you create a life that fits more like a glove (or maybe a mitten). One where your quirks, your intensity, your sensitivity, and your ways of thinking are not problems to manage but rather aspects of yourself to support, build upon and unabashedly own.

Let’s rediscover your capacity for creativity and connection

by embracing all of your parts (even the messy ones!)

Common Current Therapy has roots in Michigan

I was born and raised in Ann Arbor and grew up going to football games and drinking cider and carving pumpkins for Halloween. Hitting the sledding slopes after a good snow, feeling the thrill when the first daffodils poke up from the thawing ground, and getting out on the water for a row or a pontoon cruise in the summertime.

I'm a proud product of both sides of the state's biggest rivalry: a Spartan from my years at MSU for undergrad, and a Wolverine from growing up in Ann Arbor and grad school at Michigan. Most of the time I cheer for both, but on rivalry day, there's no fence-sitting - I GO GREEN. Then the next day I support them both again. Whatcha gonna do?

Most of us carry some version of that, parts of ourselves that feel like they're battling and pulling in different directions, except there don’t have to be winners or losers here. In our work together, we'll help those parts come into more harmony with each other, so you feel less at war with yourself on the inside, and more able to show up as your whole self in your relationships and your life.

Michiganders, your wonderfully weird life awaits you.

I’ll join you on your path as you uncover the parts of you that had to adapt to make it this far and help you rekindle your capacity to trust yourself and others.

Together we’ll begin to gently work with what’s blocking your access to your authentic self so you can reconnect with it and let that radiant energy shine.

If that sounds like your vibe…

You may live in Michigan, but what if believing in your enoughness meant coming home to yourself?
